Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her work in film and television in the latter half of the 1980s. The actress has won numerous awards, like two Golden Globe Awards, and 16 NAACP Image Awards. Her name has been praised by the media and for her television performance since the 1980s. The awards she has won comprise the two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and raised by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister, and their mother relocated from the city of Winston-Salem to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. Their father had split from the mother of their children. Bassett was in high school and, saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut earning a bachelor's diploma (1980) in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. The year 1997 was the time she was married Courtney B. Vance who was an actor in the same group. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in 1980. Masters in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School.
