Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzales-Collins works as an American-Mexican sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor of news and hosts SportsNation often. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first position as a production assistant with Univision in Miami that gave her the opportunity to interact with producers of national shows including Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. They hired her as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for Fox2 News, the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and trafficking in drugs on both sides of the border of Mexico-Texas, she worked as a reporter on newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English in addition to a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on the month of November in 1985. She is the older sibling of her parents. The family left in 1992 Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 her mother was remarried to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. It was on a break in summer that she spent with her sibling in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a clear idea of her professional goals. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. In the end, she loved the campus, and they offered the course she wanted. After completing her studies, she was accepted into the University as a major in media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of her class, developed a lasting relationship with the student. He guided her to become confident in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism was deeply affecting her as did she. She tried to exceed his expectations and never fail him.
